And we're off... We're spending this week dropping off our girls for school and then meeting new UM international students as they arrive to move into their new homes in Ann Arbor, MI this weekend.
Today we dropped off Christina, our youngest, at her house in Hillsdale for her to start Cross Country camp as she begins her 3rd year at Hillsdale College. We had her for about 10 days after she finished a biochemistry research internship in Grand Rapids, MI this summer.
This Friday we drive to Washington, D.C. to drop off Kaitlen for a semester-long internship with the Department of Justice to begin her final year at the University of Michigan. After dropping her off Saturday morning, we will drive straight back to MI in order to start meeting new international students on Sunday morning.
We will join several other Christian groups in helping new international students Sunday as they move in and shop for necessities upon their first arrival in Ann Arbor for move-in day at off-campus housing. That evening, we will participate in a big party/picnic for students together with the other groups.
Then the following Saturday (8/31), ISI will host our own welcome picnic for new students as we begin building relationships to minister to them with the love of Christ and invite them to get to know both us and God more through our Bible studies and other activities.
Please pray for these students as they come to learn academically. Give us favor and love as we love them in Christ's name and share His truth with them. May God open their hearts to receive the life available only through Christ. - Doug 8/20/19
