I have been meeting regularly since last fall with a Japanese student, K, for English practice and conversation, some of which is about Christ. He has shown interest in Christianity but not much interest in the gospel or faith, and he is leaving at the end of September. I brought along some flyers for our upcoming Lake Party just in case K was interested in inviting Japanese friends. He took just one to pass along.
As we walked across the Diag (main quad) at UM, K stopped to talk to an American friend whom I recognized as a staff member with another Christian outreach group on campus, so maybe the love of Christ is penetrating K's life on several levels after all.
Just after leaving K, I met 2 new Chinese students, introduced myself, and invited them to our upcoming Lake Party. On my way back to my car, I ran into another group of about 15 new freshman students from Malaysia all together in a group, so I gave them some flyers and invited them as well. This is a country with which we currently have little contact, so it would be great if God opened a door to build relationships to bring Christ into the Malaysian community here at UM. Please pray with us for open doors that no one can shut.
